I made a realistic face. But in a very unconventional way. I modeled it using triangles, meaning, sharp lines and angles, no square flow or any of that. Then applied a nurbs? modifier and then boom, a realistic face. I did it that way cause I was self taught. Shame. All I had to do was watch yt tuts or browse forums. But I was too young and retarded to realize.

Google how to create an different materials on bject and how to create metal/glass/tire materials. Then you can play with scene lights and environment

the shape 's pretty poor, but the texturing and rendering pretty decent, something tells me that wasn't exactly one of your first renderings, or was it?

Looks cool. Love left warm lighting.

How are you created this falled leaves near building? Is that hair? And looks like you dont use extra programs to texturing, only blender shading nodes

I've been using blender since 2014, at the time it still had a game engine, the whole reason I got into 3D was to make a game
but they killed the engine in 2019 it was at that point that I started doing renders and gave up on the idea of making a game
so you could say I had a bit of 3D knowledge before starting to render stuff in Cycles
That and I also lost my hard drive
I lost so much of my early stuff, I don't even have the .blend files of picrel or the executable

that makes sense, you had had a lot of fucking around with real time rendering, just know, that I think you have very refined tastes in lighting and rendering

made it in march 2 months after I started 3d and still think it's my best work. almost everything since has been shitposts or studies. though if it counts, I am working on something that will hopefully surpass this. took me forever to render, considering remaking it in eevee next now that it has light groups just to see how it looks and how long it takes.

Technically not a render since it's just a Maya viewport screenshot but the San Francisco City Hall is probably the best model I ever made, can't believe it's been more than 3 years, barely done anything since then.
