Ok, long and short, going to force myself to learn zbrush and im looking for a good tutorial.

first things first, apparently pirating it can break the ability to save, but zbrush saves in stupid fucking ways, what do I need to do to test if I got thing installed right?

second, im looking for features that I should know about from the get go, i'm not looking for how to become a master, i'm not looking for 'how to hard surface' shit like that comes secondary, what i'm looking or is the base knowledge that 'oh, that exists in the program and is something you should know about because it comes up often', the problem with this is zbrush does fucking everything so ass backwards, you cant even search for something because any term you know to describe it, is not what zbrush decided to call it.

most tutorials I find online just go further and further in depth about one thing, and that's great, knowing exactly how to manipulate a brush is cool, but im looking for just basic overview so I can go in, learn, and know what I need to know next, not wondering if a tool is even in the program to begin with.

>he also has paid videos and courses that cover more
The beauty of the guy is that you won't even require or understand his paid course until you internalized everything he covers in his free course.
Just pointing this out for OP, don't buy it right away, although Pavlovich does deserve the money tbqh.

no. go make something in zbrush, a personal project, something you think you could manage.
a girl with a mech arm or something.
then google if you get stuck somewhere, like how do you pose a limb, or add detail, or separate a part of the mesh etc. you will learn a lot faster.
start with a sphere and dynamesh.

that method unfortunately does not apply to zbrush because of its unintuitive ui and workflow. getting started with a basic tutorial is the only way

being a retard is no excuse in the age of internet.
you keep parroting this, but there's nothing intuitive about any software unless you've already worked with it.
for basic to intermediate users, all you need is on the right(default ui) navigation and modelling. workflow depends on you or your studio requirements.
zbrush has it's own free tutorials in the classroom, and maybe go read the actual documentation first.

zbrush is one of the only pieces of computer software that is actually harder to use if you know anything about computers.

the devs insistence on not using a common vernacular, hell, look at fucking saveing.

you have any idea how hard it is to do something in a program when you have no idea what the thing you want to do is called? then there is z brush where even if you know what its called its 9 times out of 10 not called that.
