i can pay for it but as a hobbyist that price isn't justified. did 3dsmax 4 cost $10000 back in the day?

Because "muh industry standard" and people using it professionally can just write the cost off as part of an business expense.

Dont' even need that you can download directly from AD. But he is probably too dumb anyway to search for the crack and apply it.

they dont really advertise it well, so i dont blame OP...but yeah try searching for 3ds Max Indie or Maya Indie even.

Because it's an established industry standard tool and used for productive, marketable work.
4.5k per seat is nothing for a studio that makes money with it.

you are retarded if you truly believe that.
Nobody did ever go to jail for pirating some stuff.
Selling it, hacking it or distributing it - maybe.
To answer your last question:
>what about solo hobbyist who just like to make stufffor fun?
You become an idiotic Blender user, you pay the 375,- for an indie license or you simply don't be a fucking solo hobbyist.
Anonymous at Mon, 21 Jun 2021 01:38:38 UTC No. 834328
if only somebody would tell OP where he can pirate it we wouldn't be having this thread

maya and houdini have covered most of the industries.

Anon, obviously there is a huge overlap.
Its used in basically EVERY production industry from architecture to engineering to all kinds of media productions, games, etc. and its is still used in big Hollywood productions for VFX.
Max is more widespread in its capabilities than Maya and more widespread in usage than Houdini. I would even say that overall Max is more used than Maya and Houdini together since the latter 2 are used more in media productions while Max is big in the industry because of its compatibility with other Autodesk industry tools.
Underestimating Max is the tell-sign of not knowing the 3D industries. Yes, plural. Its not a homogenous soup.
