bro, I had a super schizo idea to make low poly models using free software.
I take the head generated by MB Lab, the body generated by makehuman and do a boolean to merge the two meshes.
Then I do a psx type low poly retopo and sculpt the details of the body to define and then bake it to the normal map.
And so I would have a low poly anime mesh with a normal map of an anime sculpture.
It's an idea that could work bro.

If you insist upon using premade or generated stuff just use it as intended, without adding unnecessary extra steps. Your resulting assets are gonna suck all the same.
If you have no skill whatsoever you’re gonna spend a lot of time retopologizing that mess and even more trying to sculpt on it.
If you intend to sculpt on it at the previous steps are a waste of time. Git gud, create one decent basemesh for your humanoids and sculpt it into your desired final shape.

Again, is obvious we're talking about something that is just taken as a starting point to start sculpting.
It's basically kitbashing to produce a basemesh to start working in a few minutes.
Which I literally saw a professor from gnomon workshop teaching a course on sculpting a mecha from kitbashing library.

You can use dynamesh to smooth the meshes to look clean and a boolean to fill the holes.
