This is not a real picture, it's a render.

So this is the power of Blender huh?

I don't see where the impressive part is.

high quality photo references + photogrametry + non-real-time render + basic fibermesh hair

Any artist can sculpt like that given photogrametry data. But not every artist has access to hardware that's worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Not to mention the legal costs involved in recreating in 3D someone's likeness. There's a reason you see these types of renders only showing in-house staff. Can you imagine how much money you would have to pay just to recreate a digital double of George Clooney?

Unreal, owned by a company which is worth billions, couldn't even afford 50 rando's to scan and put in their MetaHuman app.

They ALWAYS fuck up the eyes. The eyes is what keeps 3D face renders to look 100%.
Even more pathetic, you can already see that many threw the towel and just use AI fed with millions of images that they then apply to their renders to finally get to 99.5% realism.
My guess is that in the future the idea of trying to manually achieve perfect 3D humans will get abandoned completely and shit will just get generated from AI using parameters the user defines before the AI slaps it together using all that data it got fed.

arnold is the only renderer that does scattering correctly.

i think you're right. the images generated by thispersondoesnotexist.com are more convincing than ~99% of the photorealistic 3d face renders i've seen

looks 99.9% real, the only problem are the eys as usual

>eyes as usual
And TEETH.
Laziest way to show off your ~realism~ skills is making a bald dude who has his mouth and eyes closed with one main light source coming straight from the front. Lazy cruise control for impressing normies.

older and maybe not fair because Chris Jones is an industry veteran, but he also did it in a pre PBR renderer.
Now show your work for comparison.

Then why did the artist made him so ugly?
