๐งต PC for a beginner in 3D animation
Anonymous at Sat, 26 Jun 2021 02:41:07 UTC No. 835400
I don't know exactly the specs for a beginner and I need it relatively economic, I will use Autodesk Maya, I don't have much budget for a super PC and every guide tells me to get a super PC, being aware that as a beginner I will last some years without even rendering yet

I get by just fine with a GTX 650, i7-4770 (3.4ghz quad-core) and 16GB ram. Rarely use over 10GB though.
For beginner any computer you can get your hands on that can open blender/maya or whatever will work. Just use playblasts to render.

A 10 year old shitbox will be enough for the basics.
Don't even think about overspending, by the time you git gud your hardware will be old.

I suppose you want to animate those stylized characters? Get a pre-made shitbox with a 2-3 year warranty.
Only go premium when you start making money.
Keep us posted about your progress. There are dedicated Threads here. See you there.
