You need some abstract thinking to make this work, western artists attempt to approach something like this the same way you'd made any other 3D model and don't focus on actually emulating drawings.

Works for things that dont need to show alot of detail. Otherwise you'll need to sculpt.

Yeah I wouldn't pay attention to this guy's workflow, it's clear he has retardation and it shows in his results.
