Export from 3ds max to blender and then from blender to the asset store.
Wala!

Anonymous No. 836229

>>836228
that's what i thought, too. even if max automatically embedded info you could still switch formats (export from max as obj and then fbx in blender) etc. or even manually edit the file (afaik they are just text files)

>>836122
guys on cgpeers offer 100% discounts on all Autodesk software, I've been using all their latest stuff for years without paying Autodesk a cent
>>836220
bro, maya allows you to save the file in a human readable ascii format, meaning you can open it in notepad and literally inspect for any "watermarks" present inside. As for 3DS Max, if you really are that paranoid, you can always export your scene into a third party file format like fbx.

Working in max for a couple of years in archviz sphere. Now decided to improve my modeling and texturing skills by learning a workflow for making props for games and hard surface in general. And there is the question: Why there are much more tutorials for modeling in blender and maya than in 3ds max even though (at least what i heard from the comunity) max has a greater options in working with modifiers and you can switch between modifiers on the list anytime you want?

Maya is absolute dogshit at modeling. You never used anything else more more than 30 mins if you think this broken piece of shit is any good at modeling. Don't forget to empty your history bloat, oh but if you do you won't be able to find your bevel operation in your endless history list.

Oh damn also don't forget about getting a script to auto detect hard edges because Maya can't even do that.
