๐งต Best program for character animation?
Anonymous at Sat, 3 Jul 2021 12:12:56 UTC No. 836762
I am using Blender to practice various character animations. Is it optimal, or it lacks certain tools to make the workflow more comfortable and fast? What tools related to character animation and rigging other software (Maya, 3dmax, etc) have and Blender lacks? Or there is nothing major and I can safely stick to Blender?
I also heard about such thing as Cascadeur coming out, is it good?

Maya is best for animation, hands down.

Probably troll but Maya has a much more verbose graph editor, animation layers, stronger ui design, and I love the channel editor as well. Also it has plug ins (third party) such as animbot that gives you a LOT of extra control.
Honestly unreal engine 5s control rig may be more competition than blender for Maya. Though it's still not there yet imo

Cascadeur is fun and intuitive, but I suspect actual animators will be able to point out some essential features it's lacking. If you're just a hobbyist, I'm sure it's good enough.
