That's the whole problem man. You're literally creating complex shit for .01% of people who will give a shit.
Creativity should just be a thing you love to do, no matter how complex or "simple" looking. So on one hand, I hope to see your complex-styled work but on the other hand I think you're over thinking things to the point where it's easy to get pissed looking at others simple, low poly work" That's just jealosy. Don't be kealous. That's not a healthy mindset to have.
As cynical as this whole website and board can be, don't let that attitude seep into yourself and mind. Create what you want to create, don't compare yourself to others, and just let loose with your creativity.

the guy you're posting is just making shit that's pleasant to look at, his technical skill doesn't mean anything. the fact that you can't realize that means you're ngmi.

I see a similar thing on ArtStation, for some reason some colorful medieval stylized house / small village is constantly on trending lately.
Anyway, it hurts how soulless everything is.

Nah, fuck that. I agree. If you're gonna bitch and complain, let's actually see what you can create. I always think it lands back to pure jealousy. And if you were really up to improving or not scared of hiding behind the anonymity of 4chinz, then you would be able to put up or shut up but instead you children continue to complain and complain even more.

You have to sell your soul to be successful.
That's always been the case. The devil doesn't go down to Georgia for just any reason ya know.

i really don't understand /3/'s weird complaints about art that's literally created with the purpose of acquiring more corporate work
of course it's going to be trendy, of course there's going to be a million copycats, of course it's going to be soulless - it's corporate art
/3/ also suffers greatly from from adolescent (and also right wing) fixation with complexity.
yes there's plenty of hacks working in that c4d/mograph/advert, but grow the fuck up; not everything needs to be a hyperreal dragon with a scaly penis.

it's a fair amount but some of you are acting like it's unattainable fame. i'm willing to bet everyone here complaining about being unknown probably doesn't upload more than once every few months, if at all.
Anonymous at Mon, 26 Jul 2021 18:08:35 UTC No. 841078
Anon, i honestly think you need to do your own thing and stop being so affected by what others do. If you worry too much about the popularity of other's works instead of developing your own style and techniques yngmi

19k on the right platform is enough to not have to worry about whether or not you'll get enough well-paying clients to pay rent this month.
19k is a lot for an artist on places like Instagram. That's a large pool of people to squeeze for cash. And you don't have to babysit your account to keep it growing, since it's large enough to grow organically with the algorithm.
>acting like it's unattainable fame
It's not unattainable, but it certainly is hard if you don't have a laser focus on gaming the system (posting every day/week, farming interactions, etc.).
On top of that, your work has to be extremely marketable to non-art oriented people. Which means extremely generic, surface deep, non-niche art. Or just posting flavor of the month shit, or shit from existing IPs to augment and give your work a boost.
It's not an impossible goal, but it's not something that's achievable by anyone without a significant investment in achieving it at any cost.

It's nepotism: the artstyle. The point isn't the way it looks, the point is "look at how dedicated of a brown-nosing mook I am to make this much utterly tasteless, derivative trash that billionaires have decided to promote, please hire me".
Anonymous at Tue, 27 Jul 2021 15:58:26 UTC No. 841217
What is it about average-at-best-tier female artists in this industry that still get thousands of likes and follows across social media? What is it about special Discord channels where only female artists can share their work and boost each other to trending? I can't ignore this anymore, I'm seeing it too often.
Oh, and also they always happen to be very pretty. I """""wonder"""""" if that has anything to do with it.

>Being into 3d for the pursuit of internet meme clout instead of focusing on your own artistic endeavours
Pathetic. Once you realize it's not about how much effort you throw into a piece is when you'll start to grow as an artist. These were made to look fun, not for the artist to flex their skill penis with.
