for fucks sake not this bullshit again. you sound like the retarded trannies I follow on twitter whining about this

you blendlets freaked out last year when facebook started funding Blender. Adobe has no, and will never have, any 'ownership' over Blender. Its a donation and nothing more.

Blender source is under a GPT license and 'ownership' of the source code lies in dozens, if not hundreds, of Blender contributors. Autodesk couldn't "buy" blender even if it wanted to.

its either a sincere charitable gift or a PR stunt on Adobe's part, but either way Blender gets more cash which is a good thing.

I totally remember the first few months I dipped my toes into blender and there were people seething that Blender stopped supporting the game engine. I checked their profiles and posts with links to games they made, all total shit "games" (if you could even call them games)

Then all of a sudden 2.8 came about and it gave a whole new life in a program I was seconds away from dropping. 2.8 and above are way more friendly and have improved far more faster than the big boys of said industry.

Anonymous No. 840108

>>840094
Ton Roosendaal himself said that the game engine has to go, because it made no sense to support it any further after years of no support and patches. It was dead anyway, way before development of 2.8 started, way before Eevee was a thing.
But go ahead call him a liar, and conjure up some elaborate conspiracy by Epic to kill off a useless "game-engine" that couldn't even release games under a different license than Blender itself and that was a security risk for everybody running a game with it.
Believe what you want to believe, I don't give a shit retard.

You're pretty retarded, aren't you?
Adobe throwing money at Blender doesn't mean anything. Blender isn't a publicly traded company, so there's no stocks to buy for a takeover, or anything really that can happen to it unless Ted decides to sell the company. Judging by the dude's hard-on for open-source, that's not likely to happen.

This is just Adobe throwing money at Blender for brownie-points, just like Epic before it.
I don't really get Adobe's angle since they're as jew-ey as they come (probably just tax write-offs), but large amounts of money being thrown at Blender development can only be a good thing.

These kind of retarded posts pop up any time a known company starts giving money to the Blender dev fund. It's a fucking donation box, nothing else.

True that, but even post mortem I'm sure a ton at the Blender Foundation would be hurt enough to respect his wishes going forward. The Foundation is full of open-source nerds. If they've gotten by well enough from donations and grants alone, they're not likely to sell the company. If anything, they're getting more funding than ever before. Which means what they're doing now is working.
