I should learn Python and OpenCL, shouldn't I?
Anonymous at Mon, 2 Aug 2021 21:08:27 UTC No. 842331
depends on what you want to do

Dude, I just started learning Python. You can write scripts that can scrape webpages for info for you. It's fucking SICK.

I want to learn it too for Blender scripting but I fucking hate learning new languages.
Everything should just be in C!
>python is easy blah blah blah
It's just all the stupid little syntax things I hate, I don't think python has too many of them but like the {} for string insertion or whatever and other stuff like that.

python nor opencl have anything to do directly with 3d. fuck off

lol I use Python almost daily in 3D

my main point was that the retard mixed up opengl and opencl

then why did you say python mr.genius?

because it doesn't have anything to do directly with 3d mr. retard

i dunno, mang. looks like there's some 3d happening here. it's in the name even.

i dunno, mang. i guess windows also has something to do directly with 3d since you need an operating system to run any code

i guess all DCCs are nothing to do directly with 3d then.

>>842409
>>code working directly on geometry has nothing to do with 3d
didn't say that. i said python doesn't have anything directly to do with 3d. it could be in any programming language. or are you so retarded that you think python is mainly used for this purpose?
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:05:04 UTC No. 842411
>>842410
so code working directly on geometry is 3d related but not when it's python because it's not 'mainly used for this purpose.'
just let it go, doofus.

>so code working directly on geometry is 3d related
correct
>but not when it's python because it's not 'mainly used for this purpose.'
nope. python code used for that purpose definitely does have to do with 3d. python in general does not, though, for the same reason windows doesn't
you have the reading comprehension ability of a 4th grader. can't believe how retarded you must be that i had to spell this out for you, mr. opencl
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:09:56 UTC No. 842414
>>842412
so you're assuming that the thread about python will talk about all the non /3/ stuff python's used for?
tell me, when python is working on geometry, does it count as /3/ related on a weekend or only during the work week?
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:12:06 UTC No. 842415
>>842414
no but i do assume a thread that says something about learning "Python and OpenCL" has very little to do with 3d
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:14:10 UTC No. 842416
>>842415
how'd you figure that seeing as it's on the /3/ board.
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:18:18 UTC No. 842417
>>842416
if you weren't retarded you'd know i already explained this. opencl has almost nothing to do with 3d and python is just a programming language. the first thing people think about when they hear python is not 3d, and definitely not when paired with opencl. could be a misposted thread on the wrong board, or could be a drooling retard like yourself (which it probably is you)
Anonymous at Tue, 3 Aug 2021 12:22:04 UTC No. 842418
>>842417
so you presumed a thread on the /3/ board was unrelated to /3/ because you saw a typo and then when pressed about it kept conceding ground about python not being /3/ related until you said it was /3/ related.
have you considered that you are a bad poster who's shitting up this place?

>so you presumed a thread on the /3/ board was unrelated to /3/
a thread about wood and nails on /ck/ doesn't automatically make wood and nails related to cooking
>python not being /3/ related until you said it was /3/ related.
never said python was directly related to 3d. i said some code that happened to be written in python was 3d related. actually unbelievable how fucking stupid you'd have to be to misconstrue what i spelled out for you
it's posters like me who hopefully make retards like you fuck off every now and then

python is just the first choice for a scripting language... eventually all dcc's will support it.
you can always write c++ plugins for everything but its just slower development and nobody likes custom scripting languages
