How hasn't this been mentioned? Canonical (producer of Ubuntu) started to offer professional support for Blender. This is a good step in the direction of greater industry acceptance.

actually the only reason its the platform of choice is for render farms for boomer films. The preferred way to develop is with windows 10, visual studio, and directx
