That is literally how I make my game characters you moron, I get "inspiration" from a certain movie, let's say a 50s movie or set in the 50s. Then I watch it and make my characters like the characters in the movie, I copy the style of clothes, buildings, cars, music etc etc it's not that hard to think with your brain retard

I'm not telling you to copy a movie, I'm telling you to copy the style of the characters and objects in the movie, if your making a game about a gangster in 80s Miami go watch Miami Vice to understand the style of the location, atmosphere, architecture and so on
