๐Ÿงต Signed distance functions and Blender

Anonymous No. 843153

I'm looking for plugins that would enable SDF-based boolean modifiers in Blender, but I'm having trouble finding them. This seems like a thing that would definitely exist and I would love to know if you're aware of any.
SDF is great for a large variety of effects.

i am amazed that this isn't a thing to be honest. I might have to write something to perform that function

If you really need it and need something functional now, look into C4D's volume modeling.

Ephtracy is a damn wizard. I tried to play around with Aerialod recently and was blown away by the performance.
I really wish he made his renderer into a Blender add-on or something.

houdini's also got good SDF tools, but it is houdini. if you've never used it before, it's not worth learning just to SDF model.

yeah ephtracy is great. CSG still has a ways to go, but it reminds me of magicavoxel was like for its initial releases. i'm sure he'll do amazing things with it, but it's definitely fun to play with even now.
