Because substance painter has way more advanced features. This is why I can't stand you FOSS evangelists. It's not about the price, it's about the quality. Also, what you FOSS shitters fail to understand is that it's entirely possible to enjoy using Blender while using paid software for other tasks. Why the hell would I use gimp when I can buy Affinity photo (permanent license) or photoshop for $12 a month? Sometimes you have to pay for quality.

One of my personal qualms with using Gimp, Inkscape, Krita in a workflow is that none of these applications synergize well together.

You can only get so far setting up custom hotkeys for every single application mentioned but then its the behavior of things like panning the canvas with spacebar + leftmouse press but that is different in all these applications and for some reason there is no way to change that and the discussions always end with "Its intuitive to us, you're just used to the Adobe workflow". And every next update seems to break your old exported key configs.

I love blender, I love its development and its the model FOSS for me. Krita following in the footsteps of Blender has resulted in a massive development boost and I'm all for it. But there is and always be a market for the Adobe suite because they provide a workflow that none of these open source apps have managed to provide yet.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of blind support for FOSS from non-working amateurs and endless hate bandwagons for other professionals using proprietary software. It will always be in your best interests to be as software agnostic as possible. Easier migration is always a huge plus.

I've seen so many youtube creators using softwares such as C4D, Maya, Adobe suite and are tired of the "Why don't you support the FOSS alternative" comments.

Rigify makes good control rigs, but Maya exports functioning rigs to any game out of the box. You can use addons but they break your shape keys lmao.

If you've tried to use those tools seriously then you'll understand why people don't recommend FOSS software. They're very unstable, don't work right, and break when ported to different software. Yes, you can find workarounds with it but you don't need to do that with paid software.
