Am I the only one that thinks every asset should be included in the new Asset Browser by default instead of having to "mark an asset to be visible in the Asset Browser" or whatever? They should remove that cringe Fake User shield "feature" to go along with this too. Am I wrong?

What would be your alternative to the user-based system? Keeping everything is as bad as deleting everything
>import something
>delete all objects and materials you dont need
>"wtf why is that unused garbage still clogging up my file?"
>delete Object
>make a new one
>"wtf why is my material gone i still need that"

you make absolutely everything visible by default in the asset browser and give tons of organization for it, then you can mark them, hide them, and delete them as you wish. its way better than having users and assets hidden around in different context menus, i think.

the whole user system needs removal. So many times shit gets deleted when I didnt want to, and other times it's practically impossible to delete something.
