Cup and plates look solid and donut looks good for the most part, bread could do with a thicker whitish band but maybe that's my preference, over all I'd say well done.

It's the effort that went into it that shows, I know it's a tutorial donut but you can tell when the modeler spent time making sure it was done right.

Anonymous No. 850359

Thanks, anon!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to pour as much time to art as I hoped.
Plus, when I did that donut, I was completely lost. It took me a whole year to get a good grasp of maps, topology, exporting, compositing, baking, rendering, animation, texturing, trim sheets, sculpting, and basic rigging.
Family and school is keeping me by the balls and I don't have as much free time as I can, furries are a good way of inconsistent income by how spotty my activity is, but they will wait months for their porn.

This is just a side gig while I'm studying architecture, having a close eye to details is what catches attention.

I did it back in october. Started freelancing in march and made like $800 since then. It might not seem like a lot but I was unemployed and in my country that amount helps a lot.

Anonymous No. 850364

>>850359
Ever wondered how Furries are able to throw all that money at commissions?

Anonymous No. 850393

>>850364
Can't tell if you're serious but the initial reason was because furries were essentially all whales in the beginning. To be a furry in the 80s you had to be on a mailing list or be on a BBS which selected for the kind of person with enough money to have that tech, enough time to go to obscure conventions, and enough dedication to find and then join the furry fandom. Furry remains lucrative because those early furries built a giant fucking social network and normalized paying artists within the fandom so the people who have money to spend will easily find their way into the fandom and then are encouraged to spend that money.
Another part of it is that there are lots of artists in furry and so a decent chunk of it is just dollars circulating from artist to artist

Anonymous No. 850462

>>850364
Reality is that it's normalized to have a healthy dose of different artists in the community. There are some whales, but the vast majority is that they are just normal people that do small sacrifices. Instead of buying new games every month or an anime figure, they get furry art. It's not that they are loaded, just that the community is more fanart oriented than any other.

I don't understand why the donut is the go-to beginner object. It's not very good at all. It teaches you far too many surface level things, and completely ignores topology or shape control. I think it'd be much better for beginners to model something non-organic, like a chair, a speaker, a mouse, or pretty much any not-too-complex object on their desktop.
