๐Ÿงต Metric VS Imperial

Anonymous No. 851730

So anyone ever used Imperial units in 3D ?
Since I was born in metric I can not imagine anyone using something else then metric.
Whoever do burgers go
>NOOOOO must use imperial !!!!!!
Like ever ?
Even the retarded 0.0001/16 or whatever that shit is ? In metric you simply pick whatever is the most relevant unit so either millimeters or nano meters or micrometers.

When I do archviz or setting up scenes in Unreal, I use imperial.

>I use imperial.
Why ? What can possibly be he reason ?

Not a blender user, but SI or Metric

If someone grown up thinking in imperial that will service them well for setting up dimensions.

Archaic unit systems based on the ratios of the human body is also set up so multiples of their units produce
dimensions natural to the size of a human body, why carpenters of furniture and the like tend to use them.

I grown up with and think in metric myself but when I craft things I often drop into a mode of building
things of a base 0.2 or base 0.3 units etc. You think in terms of feet and inches you have to keep track of less fractions
in remembering how tall a doorway is or how the rise and run of this and that staircase is etc.

The pay off of being in SI is when you start doing maths physics rather than modelling stuff.
That payoff is so big that SI is the superior system by far, but for day to day tasks thinking in imperial isn't without it's advantages to those who already know it.

It depends. If you're modelling an American home, use imperial, if you're modelling a European house use metric. Ultimately, just use whatever you're most comfortable with.

Don't get so butthurt anon. It's just a preference. Imperial makes more sense to someone who has grown up with it.

>>851747 anon is 100% correct in the why of it all with someone who grew up with the imperial system over metric.

I literally can not picture in my head what a foot or mile is.
> I craft things I often drop into a mode of building

234 cm problem solved. Think in centimeters.

>Don't get so butthurt anon.
I'm trying to understand it. If I get into fractions like 0.4 of a second I drop into milliseconds 400 milliseconds problem solved.

And this becomes super impotent in modeling especially for 3D printing.
What do you do imperial when you need to go under 1 inch ? Use the 0.0001/16 or whatever even that is ?

In metric you drop to the next unit like micro meters or nanometers.

No one ever used the metric system to walk on the Moon, you ESL piece of shit.

NASA did use the metric system for the Moon landings you retarded POS.

Oh yeah, only exception is this little nation called the United states of America and an organization you might have heard of named NASA.
All the internals of the guidance computers and behind the scenes calculations by scientists on the Apollo program where performed in SI units.

Nobody cares if you're a 'moon landing denier' anymore anon. You gotta upgrade to flat out 'moon denyer' if you wanna get a rise out of someone.
And even them prob isn't cutting it anymore. There's just to many Reptoalienchupacabragovantivax-man/pig-hybridwatermakesthefrogsgay people out there.
If you want to troll you really have to know your shit to top anything that comes out of the true believers, people who care are super jaded with that stuff now.
