Hey anon. good for you bro. Check out 'Ryan Kingslien' and 'Proko' on youtube for lot of quality information getting into finearts type work.
Those channels alone really has you covered going from zero2hero.
Getting your hands on some quality anatomy books and PDF's for reference is also highly recommended.
Ask around /ic/ and they'll point you to good resources.
I'm not roasting you being a weeb either, I too was one in my early 20's before growing tired with it and moving on to realistic art.

just collect sculpture pics then open them up as reference and try to get the same results
do a low resolution mesh so you focus on big shapes first
repeat for 20 years until you are a master

based. i'm basically in the same boat - i want to use the anatomical knowledge from having studied every facial muscle strand for realistic 3d sculpts to one day transition to classical paintings.
no one is going to care and i'm never going to make money doing this, but hopefully i'll produce something that i myself am happy with.
i suggest replicating popular sculptures that have images from all angles available via google. recreate their basic shape with as little strokes/manipulations as possible, again and again. force yourself to save nothing at all for the first 2 weeks or so, always starting again from scratch so you'll definitely learn to get the basic shapes down right (this is imo where most people already fail). NEVER saving is unironically how you learn most effectively.

Spooky, I was watching this random 4K walk video with a dude strolling Manhattan and he walked up to that exact statue standing in a square
and I thought "damn that statue is pretty fucking metal for a public art piece". Never seen or heard about it before.
Naked people statues isn't anything odd over here in Europe but one that has a contemporary fit/sexy body holding a severed head? Pretty hardcore.
And now here it is again the next day. It's something current and famous or something? I don't follow other artists all.

That's the Medusa, Anon.
Greek mythology, except that this rendition flips the original myth on its head (quite literally).
Originally she was beheaded by the Hero Perseus, because she is a fucking monster that turns everybody who looks into her eyes into stone.
The title of the image is correct - the character has been co-opted by feminist who think they have something of value to say about it (which they don't) - its just feminist screeching, as usual.
Like this statue which seems to imply she beheads Perseus instead.
She only is allowed to have a fit/sexy body because she is killing men and has become an feminist icon.
>Pretty hardcore
Not really if you consider the meaning.

It's exactly because of people like you guys I just smirk when I see radfem shit like that.
I keep seeing how they manage to piss off all the right people in all the right ways.
I'm a white straight male, intellectually I treat all humanity as equals so none of this bothers me one bit.
Because if I was a bitch I'd be salty too with the behavior lot of dudes exhibit out there. So I sympathize with them being a bit unhinged.
Like at least when you're a strong male and someone is giving you shit you can usually put up with it like it's no-factor.
Cuz deep inside you know how there's a good chance you'd be able to floor the motherfucker giving you lip if push came to show.
But now imagine being a tiny little manlet 30% weaker than even some mid sized dude and now that asshole is giving you shit?
Instead of a pair of pecks to drive fists like a piston thru someones face you have a floppy pair of milksacks on your frontplate
and on top of that even your voice sounds weak and nonthreatening.
That's the reality for women so ofc they gonna have to fight back with some other form of vitriol growing their poison fangs long and sharp.
Have some understanding for the psychological terrorism the weak must employ to get back at you.

This statue, which shows the river god in a traditional reclining pose, dates from the time of the Emperor Hadrian and was inspired by a Greek prototype. In the early 16th century it was displayed in the Courtyard of Statues (Cortile delle Statue) where it was part of a fountain, the basin of which is a sarcophagus dating from 170-180 A.D. decorated with scenes of battles between Greeks and Amazons. The statue was repaired and restored by various Renaissance artists, who replaced many parts, including the head with its expressive bearded face. A small lion's head has been carved on the vase, also a restoration, which was probably made in homage to Pope Leo X Medici (1513-1521). These two elements suggest that the statue can be identified with the River Arno, which flows through Florence, though the presence of the feline, once thought to be a tiger, meant that for many years the statue was known as the River Tigris of the ancient Mesopotamia.

You need to learn how to mechanically shape the medium you work in but otherwise it translates one to one.
Your understanding of shape and geometry doesn't change just because you remove a dimension or the screen.
same as how all sculptors can learn to draw well in no time and all draftsmen can learn to sculpt well in no time.
Shape is relationships between angles and space regardless how you go about expressing it.
If you have art experience you will put down the correct ratios to match the extent of your abilities in any medium.

Guess because Perseus represent people blaming victims. In the myth he kinda breaks into her lair and kills her just for being a cursed victim.
But now Medusa is fed up because it's America 2020 bitch, stand-your-ground and castle doctrine is in effect and oh-fuck-neckity-snip the homeinvasion ended in a plottwist.
I interpret it like they wanna say 'you've created a monster and now you'll be subjected to it's wrath'. Which seems a fair enough interpretation.

...Medusa was cursed by Athena (another woman) because she consensual sex with Poseidon in her temple.
Also Perseus later offered her head to Athena, because vengeful bitches are never satisfied.
Now draw your conclusions from that.
The "rape" thing is pure feminist head cannon, the moral of the story is don't fuck in a vengeful prude's temple.

>What do you do when people nazi's on the internet doesn't like make progress??
I smile and I nod. Thing is to understand is that the feminists that gain widespread support by the masses and from people such as myself
aren't the bluehaired ones that comes for ur peen with a knife, it is the egalitarian ones that that are way more articulate and nuanced.
The ones that can make you sympathize with the plight of people who end up in positions you too recognize as unfair and disadvantageous.
Most people have multiple loving relationships to women around us we care about, mothers, sisters, coworkers, wives etc.
The same goes for feminists, they have lots of men in their lives they care about.
It's not some 'us VS them' situation for us, it's about building a future with increased harmony and justice for all of us.
>How can you treat all as equals when people are not equals, people are anything but equal.
Because we tried living in a society where those of higher station got to own everything.
It ended in us having to storm the castles and murder everyone in charge and take power for ourselves.
Ever since then we've recognized that the best way to govern this bitch is by pretending we all have the same basic rights and obligations before the law.
We continuously plot as how to even out injustices and ownership inequality to slow down those too good at lining their own pockets.
You know, so we don't have to storm any castle and bring out the guillotines again to free up them resources for everyone.

Anon, Medusa is a mythical beast, a fictional creature. She's not like a Tyrannosaurus Rex where scholars can study remains and reach conclusions as to what she actually must've looked like.
Ancient texts are not coherent in describing the gorgons, sometimes they don't even have snakes for hair.
There's about as much consensus as to what a gorgon looks like as it is what a chupacabra looks like.
