hi , need some help please.
when i try to assign a texture on a object in the viewport ,it doesnt work.
assign material to selection + show shaded material in viewport. does not work.
need some help please.

Click the places it says [Edged Faces] and make sure it's set to 'Default Shading'
If it is try go into Customize>preferences>viewport>Choo

Looking at OP's pic, Max doesn't really come across as something with a future... holy shit is that UI dated... to think it still looks the same after I last touched it 14 years ago...

Other anon here.
To be honest, the UI and the Workflow of Max is the reason I've never really learned it properly and used it.
But I do know how powerful Max is. But for some reason Max and Modo are the 2 DCCs that I can't stand because of the reasons I mentioned.
At least I gave them both a chance and tried honestly to learn and use them for a couple weeks, but they never clicked with me.
