No tutorial on a single topic should take more then 10 minutes. Most should be under 5. The best are under 3.
If this tutorial takes a fucking hour to get you to the point of having made a cube with a window through it, it's a shit tutorial, because that entire process could have been explained in 30 seconds.

Not him, but if it's for the vfx industry, it may need to have good topology in order to deform, shatter, explode, etc. As well as being able to use subdivision for lod.
