I hate how the term "stylised" has come to mean the exact same shitty cel shaded look everywhere.

where is the innovation? picrel (sry for shitty small imagesize), i'm not sure if its even possible to make something like this in 3d, its deceptive. alot of challenges in makeing something that looks like this, but its the point that all fucking "stylised" graphics look identical.

(yes there are other issues in terms of jap's insistence on god awful use of perspective and focus, but that aside.)

Man what are you even trying to say?

>pic rel
A photobash which was traced in illustrator....You didn't even express what the hell you want to say about this image. ...

Can this be done in 3d? Is that what you are trying to ask?

What is your version of stylized? My work is stylized but I don't run around yelling STYLIZED ANIMATION Made with BLENDER (short FILM) so maybe you just don't see it as such

Every expression is stylized in some way

Yes, you can do that in 3D. It's just a posterization filter with lazy edge detection on top, none of it was edited by hand.

cool, how do you go about making lazy edge detection shader?

It can be done with the Sobel method or more simply just by computing the laplacian of the values in the image.

That's like 5 minutes of throwing together a simple post processing network. Not in blender tho because fuck blender.
