so i have this body,
and now i want to make a skintight metal like surfave on it with riles, indents? that goes like stripes around the body in the patern of the lines that suround the torso.
i tried sculpting it, but it lookd like shit.
so now i figure i can do it in shading!
is there a wat to get the distance between the lines and the body and make a heightmap indentation relative to the distance to a close point?

Learn how to sculpt better, cause it's exactly how it's done. Or you can simulate the clothes inside blender or in marvelous designer. Or you can just polygroup the torso/shirt area and do it procedurally through nodes somehow.
