Which anon will produce higher quality work:
>The blendlet who has practice with blender and FOSS tools for a decade.
>The industry fag who has a week of practice
What I mean, is if blender + FOSS only workflow could technically produce elite CGI results better than propietary noobs (AKA redditors) using industry tools.
Or if the render quality depends mostly on the software being used?

No one has made anything impressive from Blender aside from some models that have been enhanced by various others programs

I think the more relevant question is if its better to spend money on superior hardware while using average software or to spend the majority of your $ on superior software

I prefer to spend on hardware and get heavily discounted proprietary software

No shit, you always βββenhanceβββ the models in other programs in production, or whatever that means. Blender is a part of the modeling pipeline, being a potential replacement for max or maya, nothing else.

how do you get a heavy discount while still being able to contact support directly about whatever issues your studio might have?

Who do you think will produce higher quality work:
>The carpenter from a third world country who has practice with cheap manual tools for a decade
>Someone with a week of practice on a buzzsaw
The comparison is unbalanced. The trained carpenter will produce higher quality work, because a decade of experience far outweighs the benefits offered by better tools to someone who is a complete beginner.
There are people out there who unironically use Microsoft Paint or grains of sand to create photorealistic artworks, and directors used miniatures and matte paintings before CGI was invented to tell incredible stories. It's not necessarily the case that a carpenter COULDN'T produce something if he didn't have the necessary tools, he could probably chop down a tree and carve an ornate Baroque wardrobe from it using nothing but a rusty screwdriver if he was given enough time. The difference is how quickly he'll be able to do it, and how much bullshit he'll have to put up with along the way instead of simply pressing a button and having a tool do his work automatically.

"why doesnt my crack work" and changing a few hex keys on CGP doesnt qualify as giving / getting support.

and you don't need to, as it is the domain of cultists.
Do you feel the need to understand people who are members of Scientology or is it enough to know that they are stupid?

The anon who draws on paper with the cheapest pencil, but has a decade of experience.
The anon who has the most expensive cintiq + all digital art programs, but only a week of experience.
Are you really so retarded that you have to ask this kind of stupid question?

it depends really, the industry guy has more chances to have some real training, with the same kind of training both will do shit.
