Which monitor does your studio use for HDR content creation and color accuracy? Surely not a C1 because of burn in and massive size on the desk but what else is there?

bump. I assume you people have some sort of HDR pipeline going on since both movies and games support it now. How are you working with this?

how can I get into HDR content creation if I don't know anything about video in general. What should I study first and is it a good job to have?

what do you mean by hdr content?
For game-specific assets i just assume that the engine doesn't fuck up the transforms and uses the right blending
For anything else i know that what i see is not what i get - if i want to know what exact color something is, i can just read its value or map it into rgb range

>what do you mean by hdr content?
true HDR with very high brightness and local dimming like on the the pg32uqx

The main monitor I use is a 42" Sanyo tv and my second is a cheap 20" HP and I have my phone plugged in as a 3rd monitor to see what it looks like on a GalaxyS9.

My company doesn't really invest in expensive monitors because that's not at all what most people are watching shit on. Most people are barely paying attention to things that others so deeply care about. In this case, most people are watching content on a shitty laptop screen, TV, or their phone. So we edit and go between each screen (also sound systems as well. Most people listen on shitty headphones, phone speakers, or shitty stereo systems) So we edit to a certain "standard" that has worked for previous projects.

i'm requesting information about creating DisplayHDR1000 content or higher and what monitor to buy to create that content, not some fake hdr cheap shit like your studio is selling

No matter what, you're going to be spending over $1300 and up for a monitor with that capability. What more do you need to know you fucking retard!?

excuse me?

Im not the one posting in a hdr thread with a fake hdr workflow. I know i have to spend, that was never in question

If you're not working in a studio, what does your fag ass need with expensive shit like this? It's not like you'll ever create quality content with it anyways....prove me wrong OP.

We're not that the dinner table you fucking faggot. You don't need to excuse yourself. You read what I said.

Just because you are inexperienced and asking dumb questions on a basket weaving forum doesn't mean you're disqualified from being made fun of. I said what I said.

I guarantee the content you are trying to pump out is bottom tier shit. Why do you need to invest in good equipment when you probably can't even back up the shit you need to use the monitors for? Who gives a fuck that you have money to spend. Story of all of our fucking lives. Make some quality content on shit equipment before trying to take a leap into something you probably don't even know that the fuck you are doing. If you have to ask questions, you're probably not ready to take the leap you fucking moron. It also shows that you aren't even employed in the industry. Pull your head out of your ass you fucking dyke ass loser.

All I can say to you sir is that you posted

>The main monitor I use is a 42" Sanyo tv and my second is a cheap 20" HP and I have my phone plugged in as a 3rd monitor to see what it looks like on a GalaxyS9.

in a thread about HDR and you have the nerve to unironically "poke fun". Wow.

There are people on this very board who have worked at Pixar and Disney. Why wouldnt i post here, you "loser"? Thats rhetorical and don't you dare reply to this.

It's not poking fun, it's trying to give you insight on the fact that even on "professional" workspaces, even the "professionals" use workarounds and different type of equipment to achieve what they need to achieve.

There are people who work in these "professional" workspaces but you have to understand that not everyone works with the latest and greatest and even the professionals use "ghetto" or analogue equipment to achieve certain results and to compare and contrast in what they're trying to achieve.

I need true DisplayHDR1000+ which is impossible on non DisplayHDR1000+ devices since it requires a multitude of hardware standards - if your shitty studio only has a sanyo tv and a cheap 20 laptop and a phone, why are you even here? (rhetorical)

comprende?

I need to research and setup a pipeline to enable the production of true hdr content and thus i am asking what y'all are using but apparently nobody is using anything except a old tv, and old laptop, and a cellphone in a non-hdr pipeline

The best way to determine your equipment is to use the one that you currently, figuring out the missing features after pushing it to the limit so that you can buy the proper one.
