I created this in Blender with the displace modifier mostly, I really like it, but I want to make it tileable, all the YT tutorials are for sculpting and stupid wooden planks, it it even possible?
Thanks

I forgot, its for a tileable texture, editing the texture to make it tileable made it look like fucking garbage, ideally should be a tileable 3d model

Just use torus instead of plane and bake it.

DAMN thank you!

Time to learn substance designer

what a fucking joke blender is, keeps "not responding" and crashing, not even using mega high poly shit

Even if I fix the squares its still stretched anon :(

He's not a shill, SD is godlike for this shit, just pirate it. You're wasting time trying to make tileable textures in blender, we're trying to help.

Either bake it as 2048x1024 and resize it to 1024x1024 or follow this >>857925

Anonymous No. 857936

>>857931
resizing didnt work
exported as stretched x2, then resized to 1x, so still stretched :(

It's not just scaling, there should be like 4 tiles on Y axis and 1 tile on X axis. So, squash it to 25% of height and duplicate 4 times vertically.
There should be a way to edit UVs of torus the way it doesn't produce stretched texture, but I can't quite figure that out.

Anonymous No. 857942

>>857939
I see, thanks

Anonymous No. 857945

>>857942
Actually, there is no way to make torus produce uniform texture, even after fixing the stretch, the texture itself will be distorted. So the only correct way is this >>857925

texture paint was one of the things they consider to drop when they removed the game engine and the old render engine

just make your noise modules uvs modulo by one tile and then blend the ends by adding an offsetted second noise

It's basically magic and it just does the shit you need it to do without a bunch of dumb fucking around.

What's wrong with the performance of designer

What do you even have to compare it with

Anonymous No. 861264

>>861203
Not him, but MARI for example. There is a reason why MARI is still the gold standard for painting/texturing VFX assets. SP is still too slow when doing a large number of complex 8, 12 or 16k maps.

why are you talking about painter

wtf am I reading?

the goal is a tileable texture but making the texture tileable isnt the answer?

the fuck is the donut for?
