๐Ÿงต How close are we to AI replacing 3d animators job?

Anonymous No. 858223

People say that truck divers are going to be replaced by self driving cars in our life time but i read somewhere that coders, people doing logistics, bookkeeping and in general people doing low complexity stuff on computer are actually more likely to get replaced first by AI than manual laborers. What are the odds that most of 3d CGI work will be done by AI in a near future?

I mean aren't indian men the closest thing to AI we have , they haven't broken anything so I think we will be fine

Indians still need food, become tired, and complain, so they are very far from what AI could offer

In the future, CGI will be generated directly by AI, no 3D modeling needed. Kinda like deepfakes. But it's probably still one or two decades off to market entry.

Wouldn't worry about it, once motion algorithms are so complex that a machine can animate correct physics given
simple inputs you'll have robots more than capable of navigating anything the real world throws at them, meaning all of human labor is in jeopardy.

Unless you can get in on the groundfloor now as someone who owns the production you're likely to end up holding nothing once
automation happens on a broad front. Just remember that the economy will transition into something else than capitalism at that point.
Because without workers getting payed there is no consumerbase to buy products. Robots doesn't buy stuff.

At that point if we're not already moved on to UBI or a resourcebased economy etc the majority of everyone will be irrelevant.

Probably within a couple of years, what will happen is that machine learning will be able to watch video of an actor and replicate the movements and facial expressions in a rigged character.

Did the camera replace artists, or augment and enhance the creative process?
The answer to your thread is the same as the question above.
