๐งต is $62,624 a year a good salary for a 3D artist?

Or it's slave tier? I'm not from us, so idk. Is it humiliating? Whatever the fuck, archviz, modeling, sculpting, vfx etc.

Its shit, pennies- Secretary-tier pay. But you may have to accept it for now, as long as it allows growth.
Me? I make about 10,000/year, by choice. All of my time and energy is invested into my passion projects and my dreams, my gamble. You only get one chance at this life

Getting paid in general. Anything over $1.00 is a big accomplishment to me. I know I sound probably like a pussy or whatever but fuck, I've worked for free and "exposure" for so long that if someone is willing to give me actual money and gives a shit about my work as opposed to their ego and selfish local artist needs, is a win in my book.

Take the job and save money, at the very least 50% of 3d jobs will disappear in a couple of years due to photoprogrammetry/scanning and machine learning.
It will become a race to the bottom as salaries go.

the only thing photogrammetry gives you is a base to start working with, it only really speeds up the process and that's it, to turn it into something you can use you would still need a 3d artist. oyu seemed to think studios just use photogrammetry models as is but they are heavily modified. besides the future of this industry is in new texturing technologies not polygons.

idk about it being a good salary for a 3D artist, but it's definitely well above what most americans make. Don't listen to neets and incels here, they can only dream to make even half of that,
the average annual income in the US is like 50k right now.

Yes, VERY bad. What is wrong with you people, what is wrong with 3D artists in general to have this thinking? This is why we're fucked, people think like they don't deserve anything and should be happy for even having a job. Every day I see little junior artists who just finished their bachelor art degrees, full of life, telling everyone on social media of their new jobs in a big studio on the other side of the world. They will have to relocate and leave their family and friends, work in questionable conditions, possibly even overtime, for a shitty salary. But hey, everything is fucking GREAT, because they have the god given opportunity to work on their dream AAA cash grab game! Getting paid is a bonus haha! So many projects depend on your skills you grinded for years, stop being a cuck and have some self respect.

I'd just commute or live out of a car or something. Or just set up ads for Kiev while working from some dilapidated farm house.
