Lemme guess. Just drag and drop a bunch of assets

Stole the credit? The video is literally the creation of that asset, they're both with Poliigon

Haha yeah, he is talking like he is actually doing stuff. It is a quality jump from his previous work, so I was also surprised at first. Now it makes sense.
Also, I don’t even want to know how many people will think this is how easy it was to make that TLOU scene. This modeling approach is such a mess. Creating such a house for the real production is much slower and more complicated. Not really that technically hard, but it takes a lot of extra steps.
Anonymous at Wed, 27 Oct 2021 11:55:39 UTC No. 858553
He should have made it procedurally.

Yeah, I remember when the cabin video came out and I thought, "wow this looks like shit", but when I saw this one I thought "Wow he actually improved a lot!", but of course it was all bs.

What?
Hes advertising his site and his channel, obviously he will you know ... advertise it.
Really drives in how underage posters here are for shitting for him for trying to do more than being "that blender guy" and actually starting a business.
Do you fucking clowns think any of the artist like Grassetti or any of the big hitters working with Pixologic is shilling zbrush when he talks about it all the time during streams?

God damn I always hated Andrew "stylized 3d is just lazy" Price. He is the prototype of an CG dude who is wanking his tiny dick to elitist but boring and lazy realism. He has little to no artistic capabilities like most of his youtube friends.

>What?
He is dishonest. He pretends to have made it and only gives credit to the actual artist in the last 2 seconds of the video when 99% of the audience has turned it off. And this is intentional.
Read the comments under the video, 99% of the people think he create the art himself.
Somebody who is honest credits the work of other artists at the start of the video so that nobody misinterprets such a "detail".
Its not even in the description of the video, you know what is there? Links to his products.
>Hes advertising his site and his channel, obviously he will you know ... advertise it.
He calls himself Guru but he is a bad to mediocre artist using the work of other artists to imply he is a great artist deserving the term Guru, but he is not even a great teacher.
>Really drives in how underage posters here are for shitting for him for trying to do more than being "that blender guy" and actually starting a business.
People shit on him because he pretends to be someone worth taking serious as artist and teacher when he actually isn't - just a dude great at marketing and selling his stuff.
People throw shit at the Flipped Normals Guys too, but at least they are actual decent artists and they teach properly and more in depth (with various quality). They too advertise and sell their stuff but they are far from being this deceptive.
Why the fuck do you defend him? Also "underage posters"? If you have no argument, use ad hominem, right?
>artist like Grassetti or any of the big hitters working with Pixologic is shilling zbrush when he talks about it all the time during streams?
Yes kinda but also no, because in order to be an artist one needs a tool. Grasetti works in the industry, the industry uses ZBrush and there is no alternative able to do what him and the big hitters do.
Stupid argument if you consider we are talking about Blender Guru here and nobody criticises him for using Blender.

In the mind of a blendlet the only reason not to use blender in basically all situations is conspiratorial
Anonymous at Thu, 4 Nov 2021 17:17:22 UTC No. 860058
>>860057
That and severe ignorance of 3D, 3D tools and the 3D industry.
Dunning Kruger of epic proportions basically.
This is proven to be true by looking at people who do use Blender (like me) but argue strongly against the "Blender is the best" argument.
They are often the better artists or at least don't suffer from D&K like blendlets always do. Sadly they are in the minority and not as loud as the blendlets.

Don't worry, i am pretty successful doing my thing. Btw I hate the label "sTyLiZeD aRt". What are people expecting real art to be? Just look at every other medium... Realism is a niche that only is omnipresent in 3D art because it attracts boring dudes like Andrew, with no story to tell. It's like, we have all this possibilities, and people decide to render the millionth gun or car model nobody ever wanted to see. Or this ultra realistic forest scene I just could've took a photo of. And don't get me wrong... Realism has its place and it is an integral part of the 3d industry. It's just the elitism and blatant ignorance of guys like Andrew that I despise.

Wait, what?
He looks down on stylized art and artists doing it?
That's new to me and makes him look even more retarded. Quite the achievement actually, didn't thought it was possible to sink even lower.
>Realism is a niche that only is omnipresent in 3D art because it attracts boring dudes like Andrew, with no story to tell.
Come on now, that is unfair, I feel personally attacked via your guilty by association statement, since I am mostly interested in realism and I am a terrible story teller (but great with environmental story telling).
What drives me is the ability to create something that is indistinguishable from reality, if done right the viewer accepts it as reality - being able to create this unrecognizable substitution and fool the viewers perception is what I find exciting. Realism doesn't exclude creativity, I can still create artistic content, but confined by appearance of physical reality.
>and people decide to render the millionth gun or car model nobody ever wanted to see.
That is the flip-side to it and I accept (and share) your disdain for it somewhat. I have zero interest in recreating something that is already there and like you said could be photographed. I wouldn't want to model a gun or car like and autist, if I need one for whatever reason I would use a model from somebody else and rather concentrate on new things.
I want to create something that is LIKE reality but doesn't exist in reality, otherwise I would be a photographer. See pic related, realistic but non-existent.
Also I never understood the conflict between realistic and stylized artists. People who love one while hating the other are retarded tribalists.
I love both and I plan to become great with both.
