In the rare and unlikely case you didn't know, this literary device is called poetic justice. It sometimes can be too much on the nose, but I think it fits the tone of this work.

It might not be in line with your life experiences but I have observed many times how stupid people create the conditions for the occurrence of poetic justice themself before walking into their own trap, totally oblivious to the irony.
Think about all the people pushing political correctness and cancel culture, they almost always fall by becoming "victim" of their own ideology themself because they are not "pure" or "good" enough (nobody is, that's the main argument against it).
Hubris and hypocrisy has a tendency to create these conditions quite often.
