I need to do some animu renders.

But I need to have a diferent light source position for each object, since 2D art doesnt have perfect light perspective and each object in 2D art usually has a diferent light angle.

The issue is how to replicate this in blender?

use light linking or whatever it's called in Blender

the secret is simple and big brain.

Have a light in pure Red/Green/Blue
Extract the colors as masks for whatever color you want for the lights in whatever position you choose. Easy to get a triple light setup.

I did it originally in maya and am currently doing it in blender.

you set one light per object so that it only lights that object. it's pretty much exactly what you want

I think I figured out.

I simply use render layers and set each object to a diferent light on each render layer.

No, didnt do shit.

Suddenly it become convoluted and using render passes like a Z system, but eventually failed when the back layers were rotated and the back objects were in the front.

Still need a way to set one light to affect a single object.
