Do you know 3D artists who have a patreon making at least a few hundred USD? SFW or NSFW?

I'm asking because I'd like to study them to know if 1) it's feasible; 2) what kinds of 3D stuff I should make; and 3) how/where to promote my stuff.

Ian Hubert and that kid from another thread. Also some other youtubers I guess, I think Arrimus3D also has Patreon.

Seeing how much some of them earn while doing whatever they want for a living, Patreon now seems like a better end goal than trying to get up the ladder in the industry.

i don't subscribe to these but i know of john kunz (houdini) and vincent schwenk (c4d).

they're both mostly tutorial based patreons. completely sfw. they're not making a killing but they're both working professionals who are quite good at what they do.

Most tool developers and guide makers who do thankless work 24/7 and singlehandedly keep the field alive have $200-300 Patreons while <whatever the flavor of the month is> brings in 15k. That's how the world works.

You're completely approaching this the wrong way.

Start with: What are your strengths? What kind of 3D skills do you have to offer? Then think about how you could package them into small chunks that you can release at regular intervals on a montly basis.

For example: Knowing that '3D gay furry bondage porn' is making the big bucks on Patreon won't help you at all, unless you're somehow already quite good at that specific type of work.

And if for some reason you are, then you wouldn't be here asking this question now, would you?

Besides people doing tutorials and developing tools, are there people who make 3d assets and release them through Patreon?

Yes, they have already been mentioned here. Also, literally just go to Patreon and search "3d", or "blender", "zbrush" etc. You'll see them all. Lots of people who create 3D sculpts for printing as well.

I've seen guys releasing their blender assets there. Also some other guys releasing printable models. So yeah.
