i haven't used omniverse and am incredibly confused by what it does.
is it some sort of 'co-op' plugin that lets people in different programs work on the same scene together by leveraging USD?
but it has its own viewport and rendering right?
also, USD doesn't carry material information over right? you need something like material x for that?
all of this stuff just sounds like things big studios care about and i don't know if i should give a shit. if usd and mat-x actually make application interchange not-shit i'd be into that at least.

yes to all of that, I believe. basically artist can use his favorite program, put the result in omniverse, and then present/adjust it or just use the pipeline to convert it for another program.
