A good idea is to watch real life miniatures painting tutorials on youtube, like warhammer.

I find them better at teaching art fundamentals than digital tutorials.

Specially wheatering techniques from IRL warhammer videos are much better to learn than any substance videos.

Artstation learning is free until the end of the year, a couple great painter tutorials there. Flipped normals has a few videos sharing great tips. The official substance youtube channel has a beginner tutorial series.
