During all my 3D career I always modeled my own projects. A few years ago, I started to sculpt with zbrush and create stylized and realistic human characters.
From time to time I reuse my base mesh and modify it for creating different models. I like to focus on every detail, create highpoly meshes and then retopo them carefully. I can say all my sculpts and projects have my signature on them.
But sadly Ive been kind of worried because my twitter and social media arent growing anymore.
I admit Im a bit jealous about random users who use DAZ bodies or premade models to create quick scenes and growing really really fast. I know this is not the way I'd like to take, but I was thinking in using those bodies as a base or at least for reaching to a higher audience.
What would you do?
>Crafting my own models helped me to get known by other artists who do the same work, I can keep upgrading my portfolio and showing it to companies in the future
or
>Focus on using premade bodies, stitch heads I didnt model, modify them a little and quick and grow faster so I can have a ""better"" fanbase? I wont show these models in the professional field, as most of the people will know they arent 100% mine

This is ridiculous. Who the fuck are you talking besides yourself? Nobody can make this decision for you.

Why not create sculpt your own body and head using the Genesis figure as a base like the picture you posted?
You don't know what you want. If you want to work for some company why do you care about your social media not growing? Artists with large social media profiles have grown them not to impress some company but to find a way to quit working for a company. If you want to grow your social media give them what they want: pretty dolls to play with. Doesn't matter how cool your renders are, if a normie can't play around with it themselves then it's worthless to them.

you'd be surprised to know how many people actually think that twitter followers == job offers and that you can't work for big companies or big projects until you hit like 100k, because twitter followers == you're good at your job
a similar thing happens with LoL players who think artists at Riot must be all top-tier players then are surprised when they discover they may not even play the fucking game at all.
as far as art goes, for every unicorn artist who has a sizeable following and is also good at art, there are ten thousand more with more followers who are shit at art, but good at pretending they care about the lonely losers on the internet who make up the bulk of their fanbase, and a thousand more who work professionally and have a grand total of 0 followers anywhere because they don't even use social media.
a social media following is good and all, but the ultimate discriminant is still whether you're good at your job or not.

If you're jealous of people ripping Daz models maybe you should be focusing on your craft more.

What you need is continue practicing your craft like before but learn about digital marketing on social media and how to catch the attention of the normie

What brings me pleasure, excitement and growth as an person and artist.
On the other hand I realized pretty young that external validation feels nice, but being dependent on it is like giving somebody else control over your dopamine levels in the brain rather than controlling it yourself or even better realizing that trying to control pleasure creates suffering.
So the question comes back to you: what do you REALLY want? More followers or creating art you can be proud of because you did it all yourself?
You can also do both.
What I would recommend is studying Zen and meditation in order to get a grip on your emotions and being more stoic/chill and independent from stupid mental states like jealously, worry, pride and insecurity.
Then read up on the 80/20 rule and general productivity tips for successful artists as well as digital marketing and push your craftsmanship, maybe top it of by sacrificing media consumption and senseless entertainment on the altar of self-fulfillment.
If you want to have a "better" fanbase, create art that is meaningful and communicates worthy ideas that helps and builds up your audience and not just triggers their dopamine receptors into producing more pleasure juice.

its not how you are doing it but what, you should simply try to make things that are more eye catching instead of shitting shit out as fast as possible

>it's another "I'm a tremendously great, hard-working, and superior artist who isn't getting enough attention because of these SFM/Daz/Character Creator 3/VRDROID/[insert 3d program with sliders] hack COOOMERSSS (PS I will post the work of everyone else except for mine)" thread
You are not a bad artist, you just aren't getting attention your content isn't interesting nor innovative.
Those people aren't getting likes because of their models or methods, they're getting likes because of the content that they do. People have seen a lot of space marines and waifus, but not a lot of waifus getting plowed by futa Eva Braun in nazi uniforms and Doom Guy.
Soldiers and Waifus are nice, but you can't expect to have the same reach as artists that did them 1000x better. They are ideas that have been refined for over centuries into what they currently are. If you want to do less, then you have to find a niche to excel in. People have always demanded less for ideas not done before because there isn't a gold standard set for it yet. When you start with something new and innovative, they have nothing else to compare it with.

People who think they'd be good at making porn just because they jack off are like the people who think they'd be good at making video games just because they play them.
