Pick your poison:
Source Film Maker or Blender

Anonymous No. 866082

>>866063
That's like asking if you prefer Nuke or Zbrush.

Anonymous No. 866084

Why am I forced to pick between software I use whatever I want for whatever it's good for

Anonymous No. 866085

Retarded post, these don't even compare well to eachother.

You can literally do anything you want in Blender while SFM is restrictive as fuck, especially when it comes to visual quality.

Anonymous No. 866136

>>866063
Only some thick-skinned coomer creators still use SFM

Anonymous No. 866144

>>866136
...and the ones that transitioned to blender are using nothing but the preexisting models, like the ones by IceDev.

Anonymous No. 866162

However, SFM runs faster than 5 FPS.

Install this addon, click the "Custom" button which changes the Original Normal Maps to the Custom ones and you instantly get better performance.

Still complete garbage compared to Maya. Try bringing in a dozen complex character rigs into one blender scene and tell me how things went.

Anonymous No. 866181

>>866177
you just hide the characters you're not working with at the time lmao

Because that's what they are comfortable with. They have years of experience on that program and some of them are very good at it.

Anonymous No. 866193

Then it's time to transfer that knowledge to a proper 3D tool.

I installed this a while ago
>14 to 17 FPS
my computer build's like ten years old, now, though.

SFM is only good for making Valve game animations, which is what it was made for. Every other use for it is a meme.

Do you think everyone who types diarrhea like this is a transsexual?
I ain't one because I am glad I was born the gender I was born with.

I just wanna know how to import from POSTAL 2 editor to Blender and/or SFM

is there a video comparison showing Blender failing to do what Maya does?

yeah, how can I crack those while staying up to date? and how can I do that without running malware?
I don't believe they sign every single DLL, EXE and other binary they include with their software,
so it is not like I can run some powershell command to let me know if any binary inside those 3DCG torrents fails to pass their digital signature. I could easily be running malware.
I can handle running keygens, I just run those in a VM.
I can also try to assess whether a cracked binary is malicious or not.
It's simple, I just compare it to the original binary. If the difference is more than a few bytes, I am suspicious.
Still, the experience of pirating software is shitty. I could get away with that by running it all in a VM. I already pass-through my graphics card to Windows VMs all day...

I would say it's good for making things that look like they're in a game engine with outdated graphics capabilities

no anon, you're getting modified binaries in a random torrent on the internet and running them with permission to read/write your personal files.

Anonymous No. 867934

>>867928
set your permissions right, retard

anon you don't even know what you're talking about. You're saying that because I said it.

you buy a new shitbox to install Maya? another to install Photoshop?

For someone who wastes money buying a PC for every cracked app, that's pretty gay.

How do you activate Windows?

Blender, I always found SFM confusing to use, lots of people complain about crashes and shit and at least Blender allows you to do more things than making slapstick TF2 videos and shitty smut.

Anonymous No. 868810

>>868729
Call me retarded all you want, but animating in SFM is just so confusing. I have no trouble keyframing and using the dope sheet in blender but sfm gives me a headache.

sfm porn sucks compared to blender
sfm funny videos are cringe when compared to oldschool gmod ones

Debatable, cen0 makes some good shit and early 2010s Rubberfruit styled videos were absolute repetitive trash

Anonymous No. 868840

>>868833
yeah, maybe im exagerating, im biased because last year there was a trend of retards making unfunny tf2 remakes of every single tiktok meme that poped up

Hey fuck you, they were funny for its time. Especially kitty0706 and that other russian guy

Render times on blender are incredibly long compared to SFM. If you didnt realize that then whos the real retard?

Anonymous No. 869079

Thats up to the people consuming the content. Some people prefer videos that are longer and are fine with the trade off of it looking just ok and some people are fine with things that are really pretty with the trade off of it being really short.

Anonymous No. 869110

>>869097
If by "people consuming content" you meant autistic children, then yes.

Anonymous No. 869332

Any advice on making Blender renders look like SFM renders when SFM is done properly? Or at the very least make them look like S2FM renders done right?
Seems like a pretty good sweet spot between having renders stylized and less stressful on PC specs (GTX1060 here) while still looking alright.
