๐Ÿงต EUROBROS... Can I find a job as a 3d artist in europe?

Anonymous No. 868972

Italian anon here, I'm ready to travel in the rest of europe to find work because I've heard going to work in america is much harder. So is it feasible to find work opportunities in Europe? Is it rare to find remote work for a junior 3d artist generalist?

No. Euronistan is a cultural wasteland now. People will kiss your ass only if you do Alegria / globohomo style art.

Go to a fucking job site
Go to fucking google and type 'animation studio in <my area>'
Go to freelance sites
Why are you asking this here?
Most people here are either washed up 35+ McD workers who think they know maya, or zoomer blendlet coomers / 'my first donut' tourists
Why would anyone who knows & works in the actual industry come here?
Best advice you'll get here is stop being an autistic retard and go ask actual companies that may have a job for you if they need you, make your reel / show your work on a portfolio website and hope it's something people want.

Well thank you gentlemen. I guess I'll start from that and as I get good I will try to get a job from European studios.

Despite popular believe, furfag porn artist make third world wages. A McJob pays nearly triple, although is far less dignified. Though you are better off being a street whore if you are an attractive individual than ether of those options.

Get a CS degree and have a portfolio worth a shit, and you will have plenty of jobs and professions to choose from. Don't waste your time being a "sPeCiAl SnOfLaKe aRtIsT" because you will always be disposable and underpaid since the supply of art labor is far higher than is wanted.

Being a 3D artist "Employee" amounts to jack shit. Unless you are willing to do constant job hunting, or willing to be a penniless freelancer for the small hope that you will become the furfag equivalent of Andy Warhol, get a real job instead.

depends on where you live desu, there's a reason there's so many russian / indian / south american / asian artists, what may be mcjob money in cali can be maybe 4-5 times higher than a decent job in some of those shit countries.
OP anon said he's italian, and southern italy is notoriously shitty despite being a EU country, so if he can find his share of the degen market he may well make more money with it than any mcjob he can find otherwise.

sadly I'm from the north, I'm just gonna get a cs degree and go live in krautland or some shit, maybe look for 3d jobs opportunities once I am better as a 3d artist and I have the degree.>>869150 this may be a good advice thanks. maybe this career is just not worth pursuing unless you are from a second world country or can become a famous artist and make a lot of patreon bucks.

In my VR communities, I've had 3 folks with zero 3d experience teach themselves how to model. One of them had no artistic experience at all. The other two were well versed. The two from Argentina did land jobs in Spain doing 3d modeling. The other one was british and now works remotely doing 3d for USA based company. So, I'd say that if you got a good portfolio of work built up, you'll find work.

I have a few game dev friends in Canada too. One of them is working on a title by a company based in NZ. So, there's opportunity out there. 3d work can be 100% remote work. Go out and chase your dream

i'm american but europe is absolutely brimming with 3D opportunities. big communities in norway and the UK. it's hard to find work everywhere, 3D is incredibly competitive and everyone's resume is better than yours in the beginning. 3D work will continue to be freelance to hopefully entrepreneurial in my case. having character art is a great asset though, everyone needs those in gamedev. make sure your portfolio is tight as hell.
