๐งต How to save /3/
Anonymous at Thu, 16 Dec 2021 21:06:29 UTC No. 870335
I think anyone who can not sculpt a blender logo in 3D should not be allowed to post on /3/ This will improve everything and only leave the occasional schizo who can 3D model.
Your thoughts?
I 3D modeled the blender logo.

98% of shitposters here did never do anything in 3D the other 2% are schizos.

You could make the blue and white parts clearly separate with a bevel, anon

YES. Parametric modeling for the win. I did say :
>I 3D modeled the blender logo.
Parametric modeling is modeling !

too lazy to make any good variables, as with code this thing is just magic numbers that form the logo. Idk what to turn into parameters about it. And Transforms are redundant.

Not bad at all for 5 min, what's your workflow?
here is my 15 min job:
>add cylinder
>add cube and scale to the 3 arms' lengths
>place them in the correct orientation
>bevel ends
>add cylinder and cut out center
>add cylinder for the center circle
>add material / render

My schizo workflow for logos is putting them on 3dprocks Image to Lithopane maker, and then mesh editing from that

i hope this post is bait, op. don't gate keep and say that scripts are better because it's the only way you personally can model. this is an open board for people who want to make 3dcg shit, and you seem to have some pretty large fucking britches for the renders that you end up with. don't be shitty.

also. why do things fast when you can do them right? that speed render beeple mentality is going to rot your progress. practice your topo and workflow, then optimize and push yourself to get even farther. that's just my two cents at least.

i actually made something useful with Geometry nodes. Feather distribution on a given wing mesh with multiple type based on weight. This one has inputs now. But nobody knows what the output could be used for.

It's interesting how the OP not differentiating between sculpting and modeling either implies that they themselves either contribute to iffy conversation with muddled nomenclature or that their effort doesn't meet their own criteria. A lose-lose situation.
