🧵 Relief Sculpting

Anonymous No. 871138

How much would you charge for a relief compared to a fully modeled body? I've heard that anything less than $100 for a model is a scam

Otherwise, I'm also going to be learning zbrush to do my own relief sculpts, any recommended reading/watching?

You don’t need to learn anything special because ZBrush now does this for you, it’s called BasRelief.
All you need to learn is to sculpt like you would sculpt anything else, reliefs have become a sidenote anyone can pull off.

I don't want to spend time sculpting an entire model just to cut away 80% of it, nor do I want to pay someone to sculpt parts of the model they're just going to cut away

Maybe try learning the basics, then you’ll understand why it’s easier to do it this way than to actually sculpt a relief.

>you need a bedroom modeled?
>we're going to bill you for modeling an entire hotel, then we'll use a tool to separate a room from that for you

You're welcome, you've already identified yourself as someone incapable of relief sculpting so you are free to close the thread and X it from your watcher

Thanks!

Just learn how to turn images into bump maps.
>Use bump map software on the image
>Make an alpha of your image
>Go to Zbrush insert your your circle or other shape (use a the text plugin to import a vectors images if you want certain shape)
>import your alpha in the alpha pallet
>Use the Claytubes brush (you should play with the settings of the brush menu later)
>change your stroke to DragRect and set your alpha to the imported alpha
>Change your intensity to the max first on your first try, go lowering the settings if too intense.
Pretty sure that you will encounter a problem sonner or later, just learn the program.
