And what came of it?
What were the first models you made? What were the last?

modelling is like 1% of 3dcg and in fact it is so inconsequential that it is 99% of the time now farmed to the 3rd world

The cope of the century from one who can never ever make it, you are too lazy to even learn the basics

NTA but I'd like to use this opportunity to vent a little.
I think youngsters like me somehow burn up all their dopamine receptors very early in their lives then never enjoy doing anything ever again.
I unironically loved coding and creating art when I was a kid. Now that I'm an adult I somehow find extremely hard to spend any amount of time to these.
Even though my brain thinks it is supposed to enjoy these and remembers doing so in the past, the dopamine no longer gets released at all. It's like if I'm not doing very fast and visible progress, my brain hates it and thinks I'm doing something wrong and it is a waste of time.

It's always a struggle when you've no clear idea of what you want and there's an infinite amount of paths. There's thousands of hobbyist communities doing stuff related to 3d. Find something that interests you and try joining some projects.

OP is embarrassed to show his work, but it needs to be stressed that beginners need to know the basics, pipeline, and hook to learn 3D. 3D is a huge pain in the ass to learn, but a hook (interest) will keep you motivated to get heavily invested in it. If you like anime, guns, steampunk, furry, superheros. etc, then DO IT instead of pushing it aside until "you become better".
The reason being that you or someone else would know that something is wrong immediately.

I do a lot of 2D art and I feel bad whenever I neglect it. It's just tough for me to do the same with code, game dev, or music since it's something new.
Quit vidya if you're not in a community where you're encouraged to post work, it'll help. Vidya wasn't a problem in the past since the non-mmo ones weren't addictive live service games with constant online objectives that take hours to complete daily. Zoomers will cope and deny that fact despite the popularity of Fortnite, CSGO, Rainbow Six Siege, and Halo Infinite proving otherwise.

The only time I get enjoyment from 3d is when I'm actually working on 3d.
After it's done and posted to social media, I could give a shit less about it, or its response. That's not really the goal for me. The praise is nice and all, but ultimately it's meaningless to me. I'm just ready to move onto the next thing.
I think you maybe need to try and get back into enjoying the creative process for the sake of creating. I think the fact that you're getting hung up on "very fast and visible progress" comes from a desire for others to praise you for your work, instead of you finding enjoyment in working for yourself. But that's just conjecture on my part.
Take some time away from making things, to refresh yourself and your creative mind. Take in media outside from what you usually consume. Different perspectives and ways of thinking are a great way to rethink your approach to your work.

If you keep doing the exact same thing, then yeah, it won't matter how many models you make. You should be learning what you're doing wrong, or how you could do better. Get feedback from others if you can't do that for yourself

Stop jerking off to traps, furries and other degeneracy and you'll get your dopamine back.
