My fellow anons, which programs do you think did they use it to draw and animate the show?

looking at artstation profiles for their employees, they have a pretty traditional pipeline with usual stuff in usual roles:
maya / zbrush / houdini / mari / photoshop / nuke

I've already seen an the scene animation shown in maya and a bunch of models open in blender.

Here we go again...
It's not the tool, it's the user. The studio has years of experience with both 2D and 3D animation. For LoL they experimented with both Western-style pixar-like animation and anime in the past. You could say that the art style for Arcane has been in development for a decade. It cost around 10mil$ per episode and the staff comprised of about 100 people. Your question is irrelevant because they had access and time to try out everything the market has to offer.

On Arcane, the backgrounds are digitally hand-painted and the texture on the characters is crafted to get that graphical look that fits with the environment. We also mainly use 2D animation for the FXs (explosions, tears, smoke...) to reinforce the painted look. In the details it’s slightly more complicated but it’s more or less how you end up with something that looks like an illustration.
we didn't do mocap [motion capture] but only keyframe animation that allows us to control our acting performance and aesthetic.

All the backgrounds in the show are hand drawn. What are you trying to say here?
