Why is Arnold generally looked down upon in the scene? On the surface, it seems powerful and the well integrated, much better then Karma, at least. Think about this for a second - its been in development for decades longer than karma. And yet, people on this board never mention it, not even a little. I ask - why?

Hello good morning sirs, I am just a humble passerby of this image-forum and I have no connection to OP.
OP please tell me more -- this is the first time I have heard of Arnoldā¢ and I do not have any affiliationing with Autodeskā¢ because I am just a random Anonymous to click on /3/. Please, OP, do the needful in responding to my query: what is Arnoldā¢ and what makes it the most bindaas renderer to create the 3D renderings?

did you mean to post this in the houdini thread?
arnold's a great renderer, but last i checked it didn't support packed primitives properly (you had you use old point instancing) and it also can't interact with COPs at all (i.e. reading images from COPs using 'op:/').
it's probably still one of, if not the nicest looking renderer out there though.

It's a great renderer, only thing I (didn't) like is that the documentation and the help online is garbage, or like 10 years old. I just checked quickly on google and it seems the documentation is pretty good now, better than the memories I had of a few years ago

Huh? Eh?

Ah, oh. I see.
It's because neither Blender nor Daz have (usable) Arnold plugins, OP.

Ha didn't expect to see Punjabi slang here (bindass = cool). Learning the language myself for fun since my coworkers are Punjabi.
