how can you not get into coding. even pajeets can. its not difficult. just keep practicing until you memorize everything. admittedly, 3D modeling takes some talent.

Literally everything man. I self studied python and computer science in general for a while. After it didn't work out so well, I moved to front end. I began learning css, php and js but with little to no success. Desperate, I even tried getting various IT certificates to help me secure a job. In a state of utter despondency I switched to 3d modeling. I thought to myself hey maybe I'll be better doing something that involves more imagination and less autism. But nope. After watching hundreds of 7 hours of pirated blender courses I'm still struggling with the basics. I genuinely believe I might have some sort of mild mental retardation.

7 hours of anything isn't really going to get you much anywhere. This (3D) isn't really something you can learn in a day. Maybe a few basics and a little render to show your effort but it sounds like you're really putting a lot of pressure on yourself and you're setting yourself up for failure.

I don't mean to sound like an ass when I say that anon but I too have been in your shoes and everything can seem so hopeless and pointless. Don't me wrong, it 100% is (life is pointless) but I still have this dumb burning passion in me to create. I've always been lazy as shit, always found the easy way out of things and it fucked me hard. I'm dumb as fuck when it comes to math. I failed twice in college because I didn't have basic math in my pocket. I'm talking about getting past basic multiplication and division. I don't even know what the fuck calculus, geometry, and algebra are. I count with my fingers for fucks sake! (I'm 34 btw)
I haven't really let that stop me though. I work in film, I work in tv, I work in the graphics department, I work on vfx, I work in sound, I work in editing. I even started taking my culinary side of life more seriously. I'm dumb as fuck when it comes to math yet I work with it every single day. I have to adapt to situations and be honest with those around me when it comes to my dumb math brain and sure some people look down on me but I get encouraged a lot more than I thought I would and a bunch of people tell me it's not too big of a deal.
It's not all hopeless man. I say that because I do travel for free and on the expense of the companies I work for. I'm not on neetbux but I always get comped for food and travel, so it's kind of living for free off of a system. I consume nothing but tv and movies. I stream, watch cable, pirate; there is something always on while I work on various things.

I don't know man to be brutally honest I just want a comfy job with a possibility of climbing the career ladder. I don't what to end up a 30 year old wagie. I don't really have any interest in IT or 3d modeling. But it seems like half the people working hate their job and only do it for the money so. And coding is literally the only way to make good money without a college in 2021 .

Man, even if you don't have to absolutely love what you do for money, you can't be completely disinterested in it if you want to pursue it as a career, especially these fields. You have to constantly learn and grow if you want to move up the ladder. Both software dev and 3D require lifelong learning.
So you better choose something that you find at least somewhat enjoyable. You're going to be spending a huge part of your life doing it anyway.
Idk, maybe you could also get into UI/UX, graphic design, marketing or copywriting. Trying programming and 3D is not even close to "trying everything".

I suck at art but make 3D anyway because it's relaxing. Two decades of practice and I never really got anywhere higher than a sliver below "meh, it's okay" but I still do it because it's fun and calms my nerves after a day of being a low-paid underappreciated wagie. No I won't share renders because I share them elsewhere and I don't want to dox myself as a degenerate 4chan user.

I think coding can be the most interesting to learn when you’re learning it for gamedev. You can see interesting results almost immediately. People say that for frontend webdev as well, which is true, although not interesting at all to me. Imagine being hyped by a text field that updates on a button click without a full page refresh.
But too bad if you want a job, you’ll probably have to learn stuff that puts you to sleep like .NET or some shit like that.

How exactly can you see interesting results immediately? It'd take ages to learn enough to even get the barest foundations of a game going.
I took a Java 101 class in college and in a semester of learning it didn't even get to the point of being able to pull up a window on screen, let along have any sort of game mechanics or graphics going. 4 months and all I was able to do was horribly boring shit like manipulate arrays and print to console. Not even display text on the screen as an actual program, just print to the fucking console.

I also have an interest in animation and coding has always fascinated me, so I want to learn it to sate my autism (I'm not OP, though). I'm having a really difficult time learning blender and python because of a lack of sense of direction.
I'm not really adding anything to this conversation, I'm just glad a someone like me has a chance to make it someday.

You're probably a gaming addict so anything with less dopamine than a game is impossible to get into.
Best to quit gaming cold turkey if that is the case, then you'll be able to enjoy long term rewards rather than constantly wish you were playing instant gratification dopamine fueled games.

Coding is fucking easy, because you have clear objectives.
You create a database, create some tables, make some queries to populate tables with values or get values from tables, if params provided to a query are wrong - send error to the client, else send json with some values.
On the client fetch this endpoint. If error, show a popup to the user with a try again button. If ok, get these fields from a json and put them in some divs. Go to figma layout your designers made for this project, download fonts, download pictures, copy styles and paste them into css.
I'm as brainlet as it gets, like sub 100iq, dropped out of the uni in the first semester because basic math was too hard for me. Stil, secured a comfy frontend dev position
BECAUSE of clear objectives
3D on the other hand...
- Look at a human, sculpt it all day. And it's ugly
- Sculpt again. It's stilll ugly
- Repeat 100000 times, still ugly
- Okay characters are too hard, gonna make props for now, how about a simple barrel
- Pull up a tutorial. And the guy starts sculpting tree imperfections

>coding is the easiest thing in the world
How wrong you are. Coding is really hard. Right now people are spoiled with very high level languages with a lot "abstraction" like Basic. (they are about the furthest away from machine code/assembly language/ones and zeros as possible)
Because computers are now fast enough to where inefficient code isn't as big of a deal as it used to be, people can just write games using a simple language like Unreal visual scripting. But as far as coding using a real programming language like C, C++, Java, etc.- that is only reserved to a very particular breed of nerd. I've seen very intelligent people, including people very good at math, just not "get" programming. Only nerds who think like computers/robots really get it.

Stop. Breath. Relax. You don't actually understand how to learn. Most of learning is not what you did in school. It is not consuming material and vomiting it back up on command. Programming is a skill. Do you know how you learn a skill?
By fucking doing it. You don't learn by reading a fucking book or watching videos. This isn't me talking out of my ass either, we've studied this and rote exposure is one of the worst ways to study a subject. Active recall- things that force you to remember- are much more potent.

Programming by itself is easy. It's like topology in poly modeling, you sketch and refine your work to flow correctly. And even then compilers and interpreters are becoming more intelligent so to optimize your code to the best. The hard part is math, and only that. You need to be good at high level mathematics, that's where algorithms stem from, that's where you can insanely reduce the lines of instructions executed by the computer.
You can always go for webshit and secure a job with half the struggle.
