How do I make a rig stretch one single object's mesh with two bones? I've modeled a robot character but I didn't know that each movable part needed to be a separate object for rigging. Is there a way I can make my bones stretch this one object? Alternatively, is there a way I can split my arm object into two at the elbow, and then just rig it that way?

U dont need separate objects, u need vertex groups and ur bones need to have the same name as the vertex group u want ur bone to animate.

also u can separate the selected part to not be merged so u can rotate move etc.
