How do you make a blender user sweat?
Ask him to explain how to do something in blender without mentioning hotkeys.
Seriously, blender is a great tool, but fuck that faggot community and their hotkey non-explanations. Teaching someone a program by throwing random hotkeys at them is like teaching someone a language 1 random word at a time, instead of teaching structure and grammar. Blender is not exclusive to hotkeys, every fucking program has hotkeys. That in my opinion, is what makes blender hard to learn coming from another program. Just show where things are in the menus so people can map out the structure and systems, and let them learn the hotkeys as they need to for fuck sakes.

That's for basic modeling. Eventually when you get into advanced stuff people are just throwing hotkeys to without explaination to how it works. Gives little control over what it is your doing, or if you need to tweak it.
What it's like listening to people during certain tutorials.
>"ok so in order to do this, we are gonna change a bunch of settings in order to be able to do it, and I'm not going to explain why I'm doing this, or the roadblocks you may run into down the line because of it..."
> "ok so for this complex rig we are about to do this complex thing, so you select all the bones and controls and hit ctrl+ass, then before clicking hit ctrl+cunt, and it just works, and I'm not gonna explain why it works so if you need to make any changes your fucked..."

Looks good.
Do you know about instancing/referencing of geometry?
FYI you can have all *8 objects* reference a *one mesh* rather than having each object have its own (possibly redundant) copy.

It's not a community problem, it's a problem with online tutorials and retards and always has been. They're teaching your stinky dumb ESL self to make one thing, they're not going to teach you why everything they're doing works the way it does, they don't have time for that.
>wastes the time of new users
You need to look up the things you don't understand when they mention them. The blender wiki explains how every little thing works, and from there it's up to you to actually experiment with it. If you watch a tutorial from start to finish without pausing, it's no wonder you're not learning anything.
It's hard work, and sometimes it's really boring, but it's what you want to learn, so you should do it.
