Made this Robot model from Laputa: Castle in the Sky after about a month of learning Blender, took a combined ~6 hours since I'm still getting to grips with the program. These guys are so goddamn cool :)
Also I'm glad you can't really make out the Laputa crest on it's chest, I am TERRIBLE at textures lol, definitely gotta go back and polish it at some point.

You sound like you're having fun.
Keep having fun, anon.

Oh god does it suck? I am having fun but your reply makes it sound like it sucks and I don't know it sucks.

For fuck's sake, stop being so anxious. It's cool, I like it

No need to have so much self-doubt. You made a lot more progress in a month than some people on here have made over the course of a few years. You won't survive long here with that type of mindset because this board is full of crabs, schizos, and art snobs that need to go back to /ic/.

>Laputa
you mean "Lapunto"

Ids bretty good anon. Textures aren't bad at all, if you properly lit it, it would probably look cool

Most advanced users will have their reserves about it because it is clearly not properly retopologized and is pretty much un-riggable. But for one month of Blender it is impressive. Keep learning

Thanks guys, this really does mean a lot. I've always sucked at 2D art so it feels really good to hear that I'm making actual progress with 3D.

"Unriggable"
Lol fuckin watch me, pretty much every major part is it's own object, I've got the rig built, I just need to parent each part to each bone. Just got a tired brain after work work followed by finishing this guy.

>>879293
OP do you think you can rig him and pose him to flex? I really want to see that.

Aight bet, I chilled out and finished AoT Season Final Part 1, so I might as well start rigging it and post the results here. If you're right, it'll be a learning opportunity, I win either way >:]

Nah, he'll be fine for the most part.

OP again pls define surfacing
Is that another word for topology or do you mean the rust shading I applied with nodes?

have you tried texturing software? Throw that boy into Quixel Mixer and mess around with that, texturing gets a lot more easier with that, and the whole PBR pipeline is the industry standard after all.

There's also Substance but

Kek. For a first model it's very nice. And you did something very good wich is making a model from start to finish instead of just modeling it. You got a glimpse of the whole pipeline and that's excellent.

quixel mixer is shit... u have to login every single time ur restarting or shutting down ur pc, the login doesn't even get saved... its laggy and its development is non-existent... their focus is selling assets. TRASH

I mean not TECHNICALLY my first model, I did the classic donut tutorial by blender guru up until part 11 where I found out he's an NFTard. Then I redesigned one of Scott Cawthon's earlier characters to match the redesigns of the animatronics in broken rushed piece of shit FNAF security breach. THEN I made this.

>its shit because you have to login
well then pay or crack adobe? Just giving the easy free option so the model doesn't like a log of shit

Dude it's just a contraction, why type out the full "trying to" when I can just "tryna"
Also HD remaster cause I don't like how fuzzy and dark the attack render looked. This shit took like 20 minutes to render bro when tf GPUs gonna be back in stock so I can start working on animation without spending a full day rendering a 1 minute test?

your monitor should be extremely bright, cause that render is basically a black square. take care of your eyes, anon

Nah I think it’s the scene where the robo is lit up from the fires or something, he’s missing ambient lighting but the mood is almost there. Once you learn how to join, revoxel, and sculpt, you’re in for a good time op.

They do bro, I only posed it like that for that specific zzyz pose. Gonna try to add IK today, hope it doesn't look awful with all these segments
