🧵 /3DRG/ 3D RESIN GENERAL

Anonymous No. 879615

ANIME EDITION
This is a thread to post pictures of 3D PRINTED characters from anime or video games or whatever you like. It’s okay discussing about techniques on how to polish your physical models. You can post your failed attempts and ask for suggestions if you want to. If you are more into miniatures you can go to to /3dpg/ instead.

>>>/toy/
>>>/tg/

There are three boards more suited to this than this one is, yet you keep trying to bring this shit here.

As soon as you have finished the 3d modelling, it's not 3dcg anymore. Resin prints are not 3dcg.

Take your meds schizo, this is the first thread on 3d printing this board had, also if you lurked more you would know those boards don’t discuss about characters prints but only miniatures or plastic printed resin. Dilate and kys.

He's right, though, those boards have threads that are exactly what you want. Actually making things goes on those boards, making the 3D models is what we discuss.

Anonymous No. 879735

>>879687
And this is still the wrong board and >>>/diy/3dpg is the right thread to discuss 3D printing so go kick rocks.
Alternatively: Consider that if you aren't seeing threads for discussing character resin 3D prints in /toy/ or /diy/ or here, that means nobody there is interested in talking about character resin 3D prints, and go kick rocks anyway.

Where is the difference you imbecile?
A thread like this would be okay around here if it was discussing modeling with the intent of 3D printing, but OP does not seem to have interest in modeling and just in printing other peoples models.

Do different resins really make a big difference or are they just for people who can't properly calibrate their exposure time?
Also I'm getting my first printer soon(tm), are there any brands I should avoid?

Anonymous No. 879762

>>879761
You should avoid resin printing in general, because this shit is toxic and health hazard is simply not worth it when you can order your stuff printed from somewhere they specialize in it. Also, not 3D

I’ve tried different types of resin and they all seem the same to me, maybe the very expensive ones are slightly better but I’ve never tried one and I don’t think I will since they cost 50% more than normal resin or even more

If you weren’t such a faggot you’d know that resin printing is very inherent to 3dcg since it’s based on sculpting and modeling and using related 3d software
>inb4 b-but there are already threads on 3d printing on other boards!!!
Yeah but only on printing tools and hard surface objects with plastic filament or on warhammer miniatures on /tg/, where they discourage posting about bigger models outside of the tabletop niche. there isn’t a single board ok with posting prints of taller figures

What I admire about idiots is how persistent they usually are. You can explain every potential hazard to an idiot, he will listen, and will precisely expose himself to that exact hazard. In the end, idiot will achieve his goal despite all fractures and missing teeth, and will feel empowered to embark on future endeavors. One of my favourite stories on Quora is the guy who made DIY black powder pistol and shot himself with underpowered load in his arm "to experience how it is like being shot". Spoiler: it hurts as hell and now he's wearing lead ball in the palm until the end of his life.

Idiot, do you realize there's no one here who did 3d printing and therefore you'll gain no useful information from this board whatsoever? Because it's 3d modeling board, not /diy/

What the fuck do you know retard? Also you are wrong, kek. There have been a few posts on people 3d printing stuff before. Regardless, why are you so obsessed by someone making a resin theead, uh schizo? This board is half dead anyway and it’s filled with garbage already, so who cares about a topic that may be actually interesting and more importantly related to 3d stuff?

wrong board and you left your thread after making it for hours, so I don't understand why you're upset that the few people with printers on /3/ won't discuss their projects here with you instead of other boards.

The only question left to answer is, are you French, or are you South American - and how stinky are you, cris?

It would be nice to have a general focused around modeling for 3D printing.
Everything from original models to modifying existing models and kitbashing.
As long as this doesn’t devolve into a Paterson model piracy thread like it has before on /tg/ with people just hoarding terabytes of models.

it is nothing special really, I usually sculpt the posed model instead of a T or A pose, join the pieces that I want, remesh, decimation and bolean to do the unions if needed, if i want a different pose > move/rotate before remesh

I know full well what resin printing entails, retard. I have two resin printers and have printed my own sculpts with them.

But what do you fucking want? Do you want a thread on /3/ where we discuss how to place supports and orient prints? How to dial in your exposure time? What resins to use? How many different types of cancer the resin is giving you?

I said what I said because there's already THREE FUCKING BOARDS that are more active that will give you better feedback on things actually unique to resin printing.

If you want to post about sculpting characters, by all means, do! But why the fuck would you divide 4chan's 3D printing threads *again* when they're already divided across three boards as is?

How do you chose your polygon density? Do you just make sure your faces are smaller than the voxel resolution of the printer?

Anonymous No. 880047

I go with 200-300k tris with the regular 1:56 models but depends on the model, the main problem that I usually have is the hard surface parts, to see the polygons usually looks like shit.
