Hey /3
I am kind of interested in getting into 3D modeling, I really want to start creating sword-like weapons and model them.
I have very little graphic design experience and wanted to ask where do I begin?
Also, can I turn this hobby into a hustle? I would love to make money doing something I love.

Is a fun hobby.
>make money
depends on your skills and if you can make something unique or you can become good enough so other people wanna hire you.

Practice every day and stop posting on here. Absorb anything and everything you can. Watch youtube, pirate everything; just expand and explore the fuck out of everything you can get your hands on.

If you have a cgpeers account that can definitely help. As far as assets goes, just make it yourself. Free assets are shit because they are made to play with, not be actual learning tools. You gotta bite the bullet and make your own stuff.

If you think you can turn this shit around as a "hustle", you've already lost. I doubt you could even come up with something by yourself in at least 3 months time, let alone, something good enough to sell. If you're in this for money and side money, good fucking luck because I have 5000% doubt you could ever make it doing such a thing. (btw, I'm not trying to be an asshole, although I understand my attitude, but you have no clue as to how much time it takes to make anything decent looking) This isn't a skill you can learn overnight and become successful from.

It is really fun if you don't try to compete with the top and start with low poly - and try basic stuff, and experiment geometry node for example.
Do things that aren't easy to do-learn.
The less you share your shitty models to more you can learn and work on real thing

If you want to learn dont download free assets make them yourself. When you already know how to make them and just want to save time then get assets.
