it started off as a cool hobby, but now it takes too much effort to make anything half decent, so i stopped doing it
making shitty renders became boring, and i wanted to upgrade my skills, but it was too time consuming & mentally draining
fuck that

sorry to ask but this is nice. you got a transparent version of this? I tried using this tool https://onlinegiftools.com/remove-gif-background but the shadow is too close to the background colour so it detects that too.

Are you just doing still renders? I found myself getting really bored just making still photos. It wasn't until I started doing vfx that I ignited that "spark" again.

I think that stopped in 2008-2009 for me

>Tell me you're a beginner hobbyist without telling me you're a beginner hobbyist
There's a reason concept art is done first, in 2D, and it takes a fraction of time to make it compared to a 3D representation of it. I really don't think this needs an explanation.

Look at any environment concept art and tell me you can model all those details at the same time it takes to paint them in 2D in a couple of brush strokes.

Not that anon, it takes way longer but it's way easier. Maybe it just seems that way since I'm coming from 2d tho.

this. 3D is way easier after passing the big hurdle of getting efficient with shortcuts. You don't even need to think, just using logic to fill in the gaps. 2D however, thinking of the pose, perspective, anatomy, colours etc takes much longer to figure out while in 3D, it's just a matter of clicks and the CPU calculates the rest.

True
But now draw that scene in 2d a few hundred times from different angles and viewpoints
Then draw it another bunch of times with different lighting setups

There is nothing cool about modelling guns or sculpting rocks nigga. You need to align your excitement of 3d with sex. Take the coom pill and you wont regret it.

You're absolutely right. In 3D, the hard part is the making. If you have a bad pose, you can just change that without drawing everything from scratch. And you can always go back and improve your much earlier work with newer techniques without drawing everything in them from scratch. It's so much more forgiving

>>884213
>sculpting rocks
you should take the shiny rock pill and stop wasting your time with soulless porn

3D obviously benefits from asset reusability, but have you guys never heard about planning? Not the earlier guy, but have you ever even done 2D properly? Do you just start drawing a final image like some xerox printer? Are you not making quick rough sketches before you commit to the final? Doing rough sketches of characters, for example, is faster than posing a ready made rig in 3D, at least if you do 2D on a regular basis. You don't need much details, to test out poses in 2D.

3D might be more forgiving for alterations, but 2D is much more forgiving for subpart end results. You can make a ton of fundamental mistakes with 2D, and the average viewer is probably not going to notice much wrong with it, but do the same in 3D, and even a toddler will notice something wrong.

So to make comparable quality 3D content, the content itself needs to exhibit much higher levels of understanding regarding fundamentals and the visual medium, to be able to stand side to side with 2D, in the eyes of an average viewer. A good example of this, is how people tend to react to 2D anime vs 3D anime. Or paintings/drawings vs 3D/Photography.

There is nothing cool about sculpting vags or sculpting cocks either nigga.
Especially since you flaming faggots attach cocks to anything and pretend its not gay, or God forbid, are into furry-shit.
Also why not both Sex AND violence?
As an Gentlemen with a refined taste I like both.
One thing you're right though, I hate modelling guns (and cocks). There is no reason to reinvent the wheel.

I'm a beginner so yeah I'm still having some fun when doing some parts of the 3D process but I'm getting tired of the learning process tough.
I also hate how it's unclear how to make money when you're not going to do coom shit and you don't have any art degree

Guns and rocks on their own suck. Same as a throbbing vagina without a dick penetrating it. IF the gun was pointed inside the vagina, you got yourself a fun and interesting composition to work on. Artstation is only there to show technical ability but not so much artistic talents. This is why I abhor 3d artists who think they are artists themselves.
